January 2008

Dear Neighbours,

The 2008 Annual General Meeting of the Concerned Citizens of Quarry Lands Development will be held Tuesday, January 22 at Birch Cliff United Church, 33 East Road, at 7:30 pm.

While we have been working on this issue for more than four years as an organization, and more than 40 years as a community, recent developments suggest it is now more important than ever that the community be prepared to work together to reach a positive outcome. If you are a member of CCQLD, please attend this meeting. If you are not a member, we would urge you to attend the meeting and become a member. Please encourage your neighbours to attend as well.

As many of you know, a city land use study on the Quarry Lands has been under way for some time. That process will come to an end this spring. Recent events at the Ontario Municipal Board, initiated by the developer, indicate that defining decisions by the landowners, by the City and by our community will soon need to be made. I do not believe that there has been a time in the history of this property where it has been more important for us to unite in support of the fabric and future of our neighbourhood. We urge you to come out and get informed, so we can all ensure a satisfactory resolution of this decades-old concern.

Birch Cliff United Church is located one block north of the intersection of Kingston Road and Warden Ave., behind the Taylor Memorial library. There is limited street parking but plenty of space across Warden at the TD Bank parking lot. We look forward to seeing you there.

Best regards,

Ritchard Findlay
Chair, Concerned Citizens of Quarry Lands Development
